Diversero launched the “Sports Free” campaign for a community coming out in professional sports. With the IDAHOBIT on May 17, 2024, every 17th of the month will be declared “Sports Free Day” and used to promote the queer sports community worldwide.
Marcus Urban, co-founder of Diversero and one of the first openly gay professional footballers, is spearheading this initiative. The campaign aims to create a supportive environment and produce a film series highlighting the personal and moving coming out stories in sport.
With Sports Free Day, we are creating a permanent place in the calendar to celebrate and advance diversity in sport. Join us to make the sports world a place of authenticity and self-acceptance.
